The University of the Arts in Philadelphia announced today that Josh Lawrence will join the Rick Kerber Tribute Ensemble at Gershman Hall on Monday October 24. The ensemble, under the direction of Dennis Wasko, honors the teaching legacy of trumpeter Rick Kerber.

Josh Lawrence will perform with trombonist Stephen Tirpak and the Latin Crusaders at Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia Saturday October 22. The show will follow pianist Benny Green’s CD Release Party featuring Peter and Kenny Washington.
Stephen Tirpak is a professional arranger who writes music for many musicians. Learning the tricks of the trade from mentor and friend, Larry Gold, Stephen has worked on albums and movies with artists such as: John Legend, Kid Cudi, The Roots, Corinne Bailey Rae, Puff Daddy, R. Kelly, Will Smith, Jill Scott, LL Cool J, Boyz II Men, Mindi Abair, Vivian Green and many others.
